At meetings, members will be able to hear about board decisions, upcoming activities, and discuss future directions. In addition, our meetings feature invited speakers, ranging from local biologists, policy makers, and conservation professionals working in Orange County.
To help remind us of why we became passionate about conservation in the first place, we organize outdoor activities. These include day hikes, kayak trips, habitat restoration, bird banding, and much more.
We organize community meetings, such as the spring Conservation Café series, in order to facilitate discussion about conservation. We invite specialists to speak on issues related to conservation. We encourage audience-based discussions to address important issues to our community.
To spend more time in the natural habitats that we are passionate about conserving and learning about, we organize weekend retreats, which are often held at camps in the UC Natural Reserve System or research stations. These have included trips like hiking in the San Jacinto mountains as well as witnessing the monarch butterfly migration and seeing elephant seals.
